A Story About Sales

A Story About Management
The business capital was growing. My "need" to count out the final register and input data into the accounting system was turning into a sometimes task instead of a daily task. The reason for this was simple. I did NOT desperately need the daily profit to buy the next day's inventory and wages.
At the time, I was unaware that delaying accounting would negatively affect the financial management of my food business.
As the business continued to grow, I purchased more equipment and unnecessary tools.
I gave all of my employees competitive income for the small amount of time they had to work.
We were all making money. It was perfect, or so I thought.
As my delegation improved, my work shifts shrunk and profits kept steady.
Instead of working to better my marketing or restaurant layout, I would distract myself for hours at a time.
It could have been internet TV, mindless wandering in my mind, or dating girls I knew would not work out for me. Regardless, I followed the hole instead of wisely investing all my time and effort.
I knew I was getting carried away but didn't care. Having worked overtime for a long time, a certified workaholic like me needed a break.
This mentality of procrastination and mindless activity is what causes any business to slow down. I didn't know it then. Even if it's only for an hour a day, spending time with distractions eventually takes over your life.
The food business was eventually sold profitably. It could have sold for more.
Tomorrow's 24 hours, will they be productive?
